CONCLUSION

Based from the results of the experiment, it is concluded that the performance of a fixed-bed
of activated carbon from coconut shell to purify or cleanse varying concentrations of dye
solution, knowing the isotherm that best fits the data, depends upon a several factor such as
adsorption bed height, column diameter, residence time of the influent, breakthrough curve
and the time required to achieve the breakthrough.

RECOMMENDATION

In this experiment, there are several recommendations that can be applied to get better data
and results, thus the experiment can be done systematically and precisely. These
recommendations are the following:

a. To get accurate data, only one method should be used in getting the density.
b. Better to use a cheese cloth than a filter paper.
c. In taking the reading, the eyes must be parallel to the scale in order to prevent error.
d. Control the solution poured in the burette so that the bed of the activated carbon will
be compact.
e. Use calibrated apparatus to get precise result.
f. Increase the bed height for higher adsorption capacity. (Nabasa ko sa results and
discussion to ate. Ok lang bang ilagay dun? Just asking. hehe)
