Moving Towards Profitability: Success Story of Ansar Ali, District Muzaffargarh
Mr. Ansar Ali S/O Zafar Iqbal is living in Village Binda Mahrban with his family. Binda Maherban
is a village of UC Meer Hazar khan Tehsil Jatoi district Muzaffargarh and like other people of the
native area his family was also spending their life below the poverty line.
He said that “When I heard about IFAD-
Assisted Southern Punjab Poverty Alleviation Project
(SPPAP)” through the Institute of Rural Management
(RM) team in his area he decided to do something by
getting the opportunity of training.
He has the interest of repairing of the AC and
Refrigerators and when the team offered the trade of his
own choice, Mr. Ansar Ali was very happy and selected
the AC and Refrigeration training program and provided
his necessary documents for the enrollment. After
complete screening and willingness of the trainees for the joining of training program at VTEC
Islamabad he started preparation for the travelling to Islamabad. All the arrangements of
travelling and transportation have been completed by the SPPAP and IRM teams and the
training session was started at VTEC Islamabad under the direct supervision of SPPAP.
He said that after the completion of training, a team of business
development from IRM came to him, they discussed and motivated him to start a workshop
and briefed him about the benefit and scope of AC and Refrigeration work at the South Punjab
area.
After that he decided with his family support to start an AC & Refrigerator repairing workshop.
For this purpose, he moved to Rahim Yar Khan and started refrigerator workshop there.

Success Stories of Vocational Training (VTO)
Mr. Ansar Ali told that he earns Rs. 450/- to Rs.500/- per
day easily and during the hot summer season he can earn
more than Rs.1000/- per day. Now he is very happy to
generate income for his family and it is possible only due
to the needful skills and hardworking during the entire
training program. His family is financially getting strong
day by day.
Ansar Ali expressed that he is very thankful to IFAD,
SPPAP, IRM and Govt. of Punjab for their efforts for the
poor people of the South Punjab and the entire Project
brings a valuable change in the life of poor community at
Tehsil Jatoi, District Muzaffargarh by making people
skillful.
