Rebuild BCD

Rebuild BCD 

Troubleshooting Performed: 

============================================================ 

1 We logged onto the “VCENTER01” (Site ‐ Blue Fox ‐ Monitoring Only) & accessed the Resource 

“MVNSQL01”. 

          ‐ LKGC 

          ‐ Safe Mode with Networking 

          ‐ Safe Mode 

  All not working 

  

2 Added the ISO in the boot options & rebooted the machine. 

  

3 Ran startrep which completed successfully but did not help for reboot 
 

    

4 Ran below mentioned bootrec commands 

        ‐ /FixMbr 

                    ‐ Successfully completed 

        ‐ /FixBoot 

                    ‐ Successfully completed 

        ‐ /ScanOS:‐ Did not found the OS drive 

        ‐ /RebuildBcd 

                    bcdedit /export C:\BCD_Backup 

                            c: 

                            cd boot 

                            attrib bcd ‐s ‐h ‐r 

 
                            ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old 

                            bootrec /RebuildBcd 

  

5 Got below mentioned error 

Windows\System32\drivers\wrkrn.sys 

Status: 0xc0000098 

Info: Windows failed to load because a critical system drive is missing or corrupt. 

  

6 Again login back to the recovery console & renamed below mentioned file 

  

        ‐ F:\Windows\System32\drivers\wrkrn.sys to wrkrn.old 

  

7 Rebooted in    Normal Mode 
 

  

8 Eric (Tier 4) took over once the server booted in normal mode.

Error Observed

Error1: Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the 

cause. To fix the problem: 

  

1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer. 

2. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next". 

 
3. Click "Repair your computer". 

  

If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer 

manufacturer for assistance. 

  

Status: 0xc0000225 

Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible. 

  

Error 2:
