Task 2 Level 6

The document discusses active learning environments. It defines an active learning environment as one that provides engaging materials for students to participate in class activities, work together, and learn through analyzing. Active learning develops students' collaboration, investigation, and critical thinking skills. It is linked to the inquiry cycle as students learn through investigating and experimenting with teacher facilitation rather than direct instruction. The document includes a table with examples of classroom activities, the prior learning for each, and the level of student engagement. Most students were engaged in an activity sorting shapes as it was novel to "feed" shape monsters. Safety considerations in lessons included providing unsharp scissors with guidance for a cutting activity and signage in the classroom about safety rules.

TP Task 2 – Active Learning Environments A blog is required for this task.

Planning activities that allow students to clarify, question, apply, and consolidate
new knowledge.
What is an active learning environment? What are its benefits? How does it link to
the inquiry cycle?
The active learning environment is the environment that provides different
materials that help the students to be engaged, participate in the class and work
together in the activities to learn and to analyze. It is important because it
develops students’ collaborating, investigating and critical thinking skills. The
active learning environment is linked to the inquiry cycle because the students are
learning by investigating and experimenting by themselves being facilitated by
the teacher which shows that the students are not learning from the teacher only.

Which activity engaged most students? Why do you think this happened?
In my opinionm most of the students were engaged sorting the shapes activity
because the idea of feeding the monester was different and exciting to them.
