Fatima Moosa2-Garnel 2

The student teacher received positive feedback in most competency areas during their lesson observation of a grade 2 math class. The lesson effectively activated prior knowledge, reviewed symbols, and allowed students to practice identifying relationships between addition and multiplication. Students were highly engaged and well-behaved. However, the observer noted that activities could be improved to promote more collaboration. Differentiation strategies also needed refinement so activities were at clearly different levels of difficulty. An assessment was not included in the lesson. The student teacher should focus on incorporating assessment and differentiation based on students' levels in their next lesson.
