Teaching Practice Task 2 – Monitoring the Learning

Objective: Describe how you monitored the learning when the students were working on their activities
and identify the tools used to record your data. For each lesson you teach, you will describe the tool that
you use to monitor the work of the children. In the second column, you will describe how you used that
tool and you will reflect on how useful it was.

For each Tools used to monitor the Explain why you used that tool and reflect on how

1 I used a checklist with the student's name, and
Lesson 1 Checklist during the activity I observe them, and I write a
comment on how doing well or not on this activity.
That helps me to know the students level.

2 Before the class finish, I ask the students to bring


Lesson 2 Correcting books their books, and I corrected for them to make sure
who did the tasks and who did not do.

3 I used the behavior charts for the groups, and during


Lesson 3 Behavior charts (Groups) the lesson that makes them control and is quiet. At
the end of the week I see which groups get more
point and the teacher have given them one mark.

4 In the last five minutes of class ask one student to

makes all students understand the concept.

5 Students take a few minutes to think about the

designated partner to compare thoughts before
sharing with the whole class.

6 Giving words problem questions as a quiz and they


Lesson 6 do it individually as Ticket out the door before
Quizzes leaving the class. That makes me knows the
students level and understanding the concept.

7 I asked my MST to give me the last math exam that

do it in the first week of the semester, and I
compared my comment on the checklist with their
result.
