Questions using Bloom’s Remembering level:
Taxonomy levels
Can someone describe this for me?

Understanding level:

Is it big or small?

Which one is the biggest?

Applying level:

Can you show me something big in the class and something small?
Introduction (warmer activity + teacher introduction/demonstration of small group activities)

Teacher will: I will start greeting them first. Then I will ask them what do you think we will do now? It’s time to
..?. I will let them answer then I will tell them that I will show you something before reading the story. I will
show them two things that have different sizes and I will ask them to describe them to me to see if they have
some information about the lesson. For example, I will bring two books or two toys and I will ask them who is
the biggest? And who is the small one? Then, I will start reading with them the story. After reading the story, I
Time: 15 min

will ask them some questions such as, who has the biggest plant? Who has the little tricycle. What does pete and
marry have?

Students will: listen to teacher instructions and get involved with her.

Active Engagement (group working with the teacher) Independent Experience (small group activity 1):

Teacher will: assess their understanding of the lesson I will use the checklist and give them instructions.

Students will: order the picture of the clothes from the biggest to the smallest. They will have a string they will stick
the clothes on it. I will ask them which one is the biggest? What did you do here?

Active Engagement (group working with the teacher)

Teacher will: give the students some instruction to follow before doing the activity – observe them while they’re doing
the activity.

Students will: have pictures from the story, they have to compare between them. They will trace the biggest by using
red color and the smallest using blue colors. I will set with them and ask them which one is the biggest? Is this Plant is
the smallest one?

Independent Experience (small group activity 2):

Teacher will: give the students some instruction to follow before doing the activity – observe them while they’re
doing the activity.

Students will: have a plant in the worksheet and they should measure it using cubes. I will go to them to see if
they did it well. I will ask them; can you tell me how many cubes you put to measurer the plant? Who has the
biggest plant and who has the small one?
In the closing time, I will revise with them what did we took “can you tell me what did you see form them story?”
10 min

What did you see in the story? Did titch had the smallest plant? Who are the biggest?

Then they should form a line to go to the buses.

Assessment

To assess their knowledge, I will ask them question while I’m revising with them to see if they understand or not. Also, I will
take pictures of the students while doing the activities.

Reflection:

Learning Outcome: To identify sizes such as, big and small.

Theme: Human and Animals.

14th of October, was my second observation day for my MCT and Ms. Liz observed me. I
taught a story lesson for kg2 classroom and the story was “Titch”. The learning outcome of
the story is to identify sizes such as, big and small. For this lesson, I used praising to manage
student’s behavior. Also, I provide for them differentiated activities to meet their abilities.

Introduction time
Warming up
Usually, when I start teaching them I greet them and I sing with them “Hello” song. After
that, I bring different animals toys with different sizes and I hide it behind me. I ask them to
guess what I have. I described for them what is it. When they finished answering, I showed
them and I asked them to start describing the animals. Some of them said that, the elephant is
big and the lion is small. Then I told them that I’m going to read a story now and I asked
them to set nicely and listen to me. I showed them the story and the title then I started reading
the story. When I finished, I explained for them the activities and what they should do and I
divided them into groups. Theory.

Activities time
I did three activities. Two independent activities and one with me. The activity that required
my help was tracing the biggest and the smallest picture. It was for medium level. For the
second activity. It was for high level. What they did was, ordering the clothes form the big to
small. And the last one will be for the low level, I provide for them two plants pictures on a
paper. They used the cubes to measure the two plant and see which one is the big one and
which one is the small one. To assess them I used formative assessment such as, asking
questions.

Closing time
In the closing time, I revise the story with them by asking them some question about it
such as, what did you see in the story? Did titch had the smallest plant? Who are the biggest?
Also, I asked them to assess their knowledge and their understanding of the story,

Evidence from my lesson

My MCT was observing me, so I couldn’t take evidence for this lesson. But I
have some pictures of the activities that I did.

These are the activities that I did for my students during this lesson.

Next steps
Next time, I will make sure to make my learning outcomes more specific
because in the lesson plan, I focused on different things such as, big, small,
biggest and smallest. Moreover, I should use reward system to manage student’s
behaviour while I’m reading the story because I notice that they were
misbehaving. Also, I could use different tones or a puppet show to grab their
attention.
