FINAL ASSESSMENT REPORT – B. Ed.

EPR Year 3 Semester 2

Name of student: Nouf Course: B.Ed
Teaching Practice 6 Year: 3
Name of preschool / school: RAK Academy
Mentoring School Teacher: Phil Edwards
Absence dates / reasons: 1 day due to illness
General Context: The student teacher worked with Year 6 students. She observed the teacher
teaching in whole class and group situations. When teaching, the student teacher mainly taught
science with an emphasis on practical learning, but also some maths lessons. The student teacher
always taught whole classes of up to 23 students.
Observed Strengths:
 Nouf always had resources for the lesson prepared
 Nouf demonstrated a good rapport with the children
 Nouf had clear behavior expectations in the classroom

Areas for Development:

 Planning – choosing subject content for your own lessons and being less reliant on the
class teacher
 Don’t be afraid. If something isn’t going quite right, don’t be afraid to stop the lesson and try
explaining again or reshaping the learning. We don’t always get it right first time.

General Comments:
I feel that Nouf’s confidence in the classroom has grown over the past few months and she is now
much more aware of the importance of practical activity to help children learn. She has
demonstrated a strong willingness to teach and I hope that she has picked up some useful
teaching strategies for her future career.
