First Convocation of CNHS Senior High School: The Revival
First Convocation of CNHS Senior High School: The Revival
This Wednesday morning of July 4, 2018, the seniors of Corcuera National High School
witnessed the spectacular presentation of talents from Grade 12 STEM Sherrington or in other
words, the first convocation of the senior high school.
Little did others know, the convocation of the seniors is a remarkable start of another
era of featuring Cornahisian talents. Tracing the school’s history, this activity began on the time
that even the Senior High School (SHS) coordinator, Ma’am Mary Jane Fallaria, cannot quite
remember. She imparted that it was already there when she entered high school in Cornahis.
Sadly, it was closed maybe more than five years ago because of the construction of the school’s
court.
Now that Cornahisians are back at it again, it’s essential to know why the school is
holding such an activity, one that is not organized in other schools, at the first place.
Convocation is not an event that can be defined as “pasikat o pabibo lang yan.” The institution
values their students in a way that not only the administration can benefit from it but also the
whole community which are the Cornahisians.
Ma’am Fallaria already said on her closing remarks that this event is an opportunity for
students to enhance their talents. She also said that the students are not just going to school to
improve their academic skills. Besides, it is also an opportunity to show the others what they
can do. Boosting confidence and discovering talents are two of the aims of the convocation.
For years of witnessing convocations, Ma’am Fallaria gladly remarked that convocations
are effective in improving the students. By this, the students have done well in public
performances compared to before they have revealed their hidden gifts in front of their fellow
students. Even in class, she had seen the teamwork in collaborative activities because without
teamwork, the convocation would bear no fruit.
Starting this fourth of July, an assigned section would spearhead the convocation every
first Wednesday of the month. (Before, it was held during first Monday of the month.)
Cornahisians, your eyes still have more and a lot to see. Your time will also come to show them
what you can do. Be prepared.
