Food is also part of the tradition, culture and behaviour. This can mean
that eating has an emotional component as well…
Furthermore, you’re eating habits have become part of your daily life so
you don’t think much about it. For many people, changing eating habits is very
hard; you may have had certain habits for so long that that you do not realize
they are unhealthy. Thus, all human eat to survive.
FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE FOOD CHOICES
There are several factors that influence a person’s food choices. The
following list shows some factors that influence food choices.
1. PERSONAL TASTE hasa lot to do with what you choose to eat. If you
like a certain food, you are more likely to eat it from often.
2. FAMILY or RELIGIOUS TRADITIONSFamily traditions or your cultural
background may be another reason that affects the types of foods you
decide to eat. There may be kinds of food that are restricted in your
family. There are families who are vegetarians. And do not serve meat
in the family. There are also those who observe the no-pork diet.
3. CONVENIENCE OF FOOD is most likely to be tempted to eat some
food with reach because they are convenient, and so may eat them
more often. Observe the grocery carts of shop-goers when you go with
your mother to the grocer. You can always identify which types of food
are convenient and available in their family. There may be some
grocery shoppers who buy more junk food items than other types of
food.
4. COST OF FOOD often the cost of food may affect the kinds of food
your family buys regularly. This factor determines the kinds of food
you actually eat. At certain times of the year, different fruits come in
season. Mangoes, cantaloupes and watermelon are common during

substance to fuel your energy, and to make your muscles and bones
strong.
Here are some tips to consider in order for you to to do your best
during a physical workout.
a. Fuel up before and after a vigorous exercise most especially more
than one hour during long workouts.
b. Drinking water is important, especially when you are active.
Hydration is needed for strength, speed, stamina, recovery, injury
prevention and cognition.
c. Get enough sleep always bear in mind that sleeps is very important
in a person your body needs time to rest and recover. Get at least 8
hours sleep every night. A good night sleep prepares your body to
do strenuous activities.

adequate nutrition. Eating disorders can harm the heart, digestive system,
bones, and teeth and mouth, and lead to other diseases.
BULIMIA NERVOSA
Recurrent inappropriate compensatory behavior in order to prevent
weight gain, such as self-induced vomiting; misuse of laxatives, diuretics,
enemas, or other medications; fasting; or excessive exercise.
SYMPTOMS:
Eating large amounts of food uncontrollably (binging)
Vomiting, using laxatives, or using other methods to eliminate food
(purging)
Excessive concern about body weight
Depression or changes in mood
Irregular menstrual periods
Unusual dental problems, swollen cheeks or glands, heartburn, or
bloating (swelling of the stomach)
BINGE EATING DISORDER
Characterized by uncontrollable, excessive eating, followed by feelings of
shame and guilt. Additionally, these individuals tend to diet more often, enroll
in weight-control programs and have a history of family obesity.
MUSCLE DYSMORPHIA
Obsessive preoccupation via exaggerated belief that one's own body is too
small, too skinny, insufficiently muscular, although in most cases, the
individual's build is normal or even exceptionally large and muscular already
