US Encoder/Resolver Cables Installation Instructions

General
These operating instructions are intended to aid in the proper connection of Encoders and/or Resolvers that are used with the
Movidrive® drive inverter. SEW has several pre-fabricated cables to make connections to Movidrive® easier.

9E00 0428 - 330’ Encoder/Resolver Cable with (1) angled male connector.
9E00 0410 - 100’ Encoder/Resolver Cable with (1) angled male connector
9E00 0412 - 50’ Encoder/Resolver Cable with (1) angled male connector
9E00 0414 - 25’ Encoder/Resolver Cable with (1) angled male connector
9E00 0415 - 6’ Encoder/Resolver Cable with (1) angled male and (1) angled female connector.
Used to connect Movidrive® to DWI11A.
9E00 0416 - 6’ Encoder/Resolver Cable with (1) angled male and (1) angled female connector.
Can be used to connect Movidrive® Master-Slave synchronous connection with
DRS11A.
9E00 0418 - 3’ Encoder/Resolver Cable with (1) angled male and (1) angled female connector.
Can be used to connect Movidrive® Master-Slave synchronous connection with DRS11A.
9E00 0419 - 1.5’ Encoder/Resolver Cable with (1) angled male and (1) angled female connector.
Can be used to connect Movidrive® Master-Slave synchronous connection with DRS11A.

Encoder Connection to MDV Movidrive® Drive Inverter

SEW recommends the high-resolution sin/cos encoder ES1S, ES2S or EV1S for operation with the Movidrive® drive inverter.
Connect the encoder as follows:

It is also possible to connect TTL encoders with 24 VDC encoder supply (ES1R, ES2R, EV1R) directly to Movidrive®. Install the TTL
encoders in exactly the same way as the high-resolution sin/cos encoders.

IMPORTANT:
If you are using an HTL encoder ES1C, ES2C or EV1C, you must not connect the negated channels K1’ (A’), K2’ (B’) and K0’
(C’) to Movidrive®! All other connections are per Figure 1.

Use the “5 V encoder supply type DW11A” Movidrive® option (part number 822 759 4) if you have to connect an encoder with a
5 VDC encoder supply (ES1T, ES2T or EV1T) to Movidrive®. Connect the encoder as follows:
