Seth Boss Probable Cause Statement
State of Utah
vs.
Affidavit of Probable Cause
SETH K BOSS
Date of Birth: 02/01/1988
Arrestee
On 01/18/2019 23:05 the defendant was arrested for the offense(s) of:
I believe there is probable cause to charge the defendant with these charges because:
Myself and Trooper Ernstsen responded to a reckless driver on 1/19/2019. The driver was reported to be heading
North on State Street from the I215 off-ramp. Shortly after there was a report that the driver was travelling
wrong way on State Street. On other trooper and a Murray officer stopped the vehicle travelling wrong way.
Myself and Ernstsen pulled up in front of the wrong way driver. The vehicle was missing its tire on the front
passenger side, with the mirror also broken. On the driver side there was damage the the front quarter panel
and the mirror was missing. When talking with the driver he did not know exactly what was going on. There was
an odor of alcohol coming from the driver. When asked if he had been drinking the driver, Seth Boss, stated that
he had been drinking wine, saying that he was "not going to lie". I performed Standard Field Sobriety Tests on
Boss and then placed him under arrest for Driving Under the Influence. Boss submitted to my request for a
chemical breath test after reading him his admonitions. Boss was transported to the UHP section 4 office where I
performed the breath test with a result of 0.245. Boss was then transported to the Salt Lake County Jail.
I declare under penalty of perjury and under the laws of the State of Utah that the foregoing is true and correct.
