Miniature books What are miniature books?

Miniature books are like beautiful jewels. They are often smaller than a matchbox. A size
of 3 inch (7.6 cm.) is the agreed maximum, although some people collect up to 4 inch.
The content of a miniature book can be anything, just like a "normal" book.

Interest in miniature books is very international. That's why publications of the Dutch
publisher Catharijne Press Miniature Books ( [email protected] ) are mostly in
English. The description of the books is therefore also in English. Collectors of miniature
books are mainly found in the USA, the UK and Japan. Many of them are members of the
international Miniature Book Society ( www.mbs.org ).

Making a miniature book has long been the "master proof" for typesetters and
bookbinders, a way in which they could demonstate their craftmanship.

Miniature books have a special beauty of themselves. The famous Louis Bondy said:
"Small is beautiful", and that says it all.

Below you find a list of the publications of Catharijne Press Miniature Books.

For your convenience you will find a translation of this article in Dutch at the end of this
document.

Nederlandse uitgeverij Catharijne Press Miniature Books ( [email protected] )
Engels.

leggen.
