Of Thrones and Tiaras: A concert of music for, by, and of royalty

As the Christmas season ushers in, music from opera and musical theatre will be featured in
a special two-night concert in the second weekend of December.

“Of Thrones and Tiaras: An Evening of Opera and Musical Theater Royalty” shall gather some
of the talented young performing artists from the opera and musical theatre scene. Kimberly
Adam, Mary Louise Alcantara, Allison Rose Cervantes, Renz Nathaniel Cruz, Nerissa De Juan,
Jioanna Dollesin, Eden Lorrice Dumlao, Aindrielle Madelo, Phi Palmos, Lorenz Edward
Sarrondo, Tomy Virtucio, Jane Wee, with outstanding pianists, Reynaldo Reyes Gendrano
and Gabriel Allan Paguirigan. The artists shall perform music from the operas and musical
theatre works such as La Traviata, Le Nozze di Figaro, Into the Woods, Les Miserables, among
many others.

This will also be OperaJuan’s _____ launch (PLEASE VERIFY IF FORMAL LAUNCH, SOFT

The show is directed by Renz Nathaniel Cruz and Phi Palmos, under the musical direction of
Gabriel Allan Paguirigan with Reynaldo Gendrano assisting in the musical direction.

The two-night show will be on December 8 and 9 (Saturday and Sunday), 5:00 PM, at Manila
Pianos, Ronac Lifestyle Center, Paseo de Magallanes, Makati City. Contact 09651951007,

ARTISTS PROFILES (PERFORMERS FOR THE DZFE GUESTING)

LORENZ EDWARD SARRONDO


Tenor Lorenz Edward S. Sarrondo began his musical career when he joined the internationally-
acclaimed University of the Philippines Manila Chorale (UPMC) in 2010, having won top accolades
in numerous prestigious choral competitions both locally and internationally under the baton of Mr.
Nikos Ibarra Mante and Professor Emmanuel P. De Leon, Jr. As a member of the UPMC, he has
joined four European Tours and visited more than 15 countries and 40 cities. He was also part of the
ensemble in several productions such as the Philippine premiere of Larry Delinger’s “Medea”, and the
Sarswela “Ana Maria”.
He is a co-founder and a tenor of the Ottava Vocalensemble, an up and coming group of singers from different
academic backgrounds and university choirs based in Manila specializing in classical, sacred, gospel, jazz, and
pop music, among others.
At present, Lorenz is pursuing a Diploma in Creative and Performing Musical Arts (DCPMA), Major in Voice,
under Dr. Raymond Leslie Diaz, at the University of the Philippines College of Music.

ALLISON ROSE CERVANTES


Filipina soprano Allison Rose Cervantes started her passion for singing at a very young age. First
exposed as part of the Children’s Choir in their church (Iglesia Ni Cristo) and began her vocal
training at the age of 8 where she was enrolled at the Lea de Casto Music Studio. She also
participated in different voice contests in her school.
Her first experience as a classical singer was in New Era University College of Music under the
tutelage of Prof. Ricky Salazar. She was part of the ensemble in the recent play of Noli Me Tangere: The
Opera at the Cultural Center of the Philippines last 2017. She also played the part of “Utusan” in the said
opera.
She recently participated in the Iglesia Ni Cristo Songs of Faith, Love, and Hope National Voice Competition
and got in the grand finals. Now she’s part of the Iglesia Ni Cristo Production Company.
She’s currently studying at the University of the Philippines College of Music taking up Diploma in Creative
and Performing Musical Arts Vocal Performance under the tutelage of Prof. Ma. Cecilia Valeña

REYNALDO REYES GENDRANO


Reynaldo "Raki" Gendrano, is a Filipino pianist, composer, and arranger and the top prize winner of
the first-ever Iglesia ni Cristo International Piano Competition held in 2016, performing an
outstanding interpretation of J. S. Bach's "French Suite no. 5 in G major", BWV 856. His skills as a
pianist has led him to perform with some of the most talented and up and coming musicians in the
Philippines, and was also a regular performer at "Finestra" in Solaire. Raki has studied Piano
Performance under Prof. Miguel Aspiras at the New Era University College of Music and is currently
continuing his Bachelor of Music, Major in Piano degree at the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of
Music, under renowned Filipino pianist, Prof. Mariel Ilusorio. Raki is a scholar of the Original Pilipino
Performing Arts Foundation.

JANE FLORENCE H. WEE


Mezzo Soprano Jane Wee started her musical journey at the age of 14 when she joined the Hope
Christian High School choir, the hope chorale, under the guidance of an Alumna of the UP Madrigal
Singers, Darlene Yu, later on, under the guidance of the Mandaluyong Children’s choir Musical
Director, Sir Sebastian Trinidad.
She continued her studies at the University of Santo Tomas, Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Asst.
Prof. Randy Gilongo. In 2013, she became part of an ensemble of Carmen by G. Bizet produced by the
Philippine Lyric Opera Company under baton of Maestro William Barkhymer and the direction of Laurice
Guillen. 2014, she was the 3rd woodsprite in Rusalka by A. dvorak produced by the UP College of Music
under the baton of Maestro Josefino Toledo and the direction of Prof. Alegria Ferrer. At the same year, she
became a scholar of the Klassical Music Foundation under the Philippine Mcdonalds corporation chairman,
Dr. George Yang. In 2016 and 2017, she played La Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi by G. Puccini produced by the in
Philippine Lyric Company and she became part of an ensemble of Noli Me Tangere by Felipe Padilla de Leon
produced by J & S Productions.
In 2018, she finished her degree and graduated as Cum Laude and is currently working as a Voice Teacher in
Jimmy Antiporda’s Music Studio, the Music Masters Studio in Capitol Hills, Old Balara, Quezon City.
