2. Perform regular hardware health log checks (HP ilo or Dell iDRAC for example) 3. Perform Windows Server Log checks (event logs, security logs) 4. Perform regular Windows updates (this can be a very wrong answer depending on application) 5. Perform backup tasks or ensure backups runs successfully. 6. work with print servers, file permissions, and Active Directory, 7. Collaborate with networking department and install necessary hardware to systems. 8. Install and configure various commercial products on window operating systems 9. Manage and monitor system plans and supervise all activities for plan and unplanned systems.
Then there is the "paper-work" part....
1. Ensure proper logs of Server room entry
2. Ensure proper logs of server access (server rack, KVM etc) 3. Ensure proper Policy or GPO change logs (who changed what etc) 4. Ensure proper security logs (eg remote access controls, VPN controls) 5. Budgeting or at least informing IT manager the need to renew support contracts or replace hardware (when support cannot be further extended)
