CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

1.1 GENERAL INTRODUCTION OF INDUSTRIAL TRAINING

The industrial training (INTRA) is an industrial program which every University Kuala
Lumpur - Malaysia France Institute (UniKL MFI) students must through as a
part of their courses. Student must be trained four months at the company for complete
the CGPA. The credit hours of industrial training for diploma programme are 4 credit
hours . The marking schedule of industrial training divided 3 part :

 Company assessment 50%

 Industrial report evaluation 30%

 Presentation 20%

This intra programme was made to trained students in a real life field that they will
trough. This programme will put students in job scene which is open to job
responsibilities , stress, date line which is make student realize how was real life is.

1.2 OBJECTIVE OF INDUSTRIAL TRAINING

The main objective of INTRA is to expose students in real working environment,


students will learn more in a real work environment and being able to adapt in that particular
environment. This is very important for student learning process in order to understand the
theory that already learned and relate it with practical which have been done in practical work at
sites, labs, workshops and much more. Therefore, the trainee should be able:

 To train at real working situation at industries before applied the real job.
 Expose to a new technology and applications in engineering
 Ensure that the students will respect and follow the company’s rules.
 Allow the students to involve in the real working environment
 Improves student’s confidence and develop responsibility
 To know how to solve problem occurs in real work.
 To increase the creativity and innovative during the work.
 To improve working skill
 To expose the new technology and engineering equipments that may not be available in
UniKL MFI

1.4 SCOPE OF WORK

During industrial training at K-KEM Engineering Services., the position was given to

trainee is Non Destructive Testing (NDT) personnel under Inspection department and document

controller for final documentation under Documentation Department.

The trainee should follow the supervisor’s instruction and order. The inspection of NDT

such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Dye Penetration Inspection (DPI), Hydro Testing, and many

more.

Trainee also exposed to documentation process. Helping in making final product of

company which is coloured piping instruction design (P&ID), three dimensional drawing (3D

Drawing), Meridium, and Database.
