Fire Detection & Alarm System

The document summarizes a fire detection and alarm system that includes manual call points, smoke, heat, and flame detectors, a fire control panel, response indicators, hooters, and a PA/talkback system. The system detects fires and alerts occupants through audible alarms. Detectors are installed throughout buildings and connected to a control panel that monitors them. In the event of detection, the panel activates alarms and safety features to alert people and contain the fire. The aim is to detect fires early before they can significantly grow or spread.

FIRE DETECTION & ALARM SYSTEM :

One effective way of minimizing the effect of an unwanted fire is to detect it before it has
chance to grow too large or spread too far. This is the objective of a fire detection system. Fire
detection and alarm systems are compulsory in all industrial buildings, plants, manufacturing
facilities, stores, condominiums, high rise residences, shopping malls etc.
We install such systems for homes and businesses, manufactured and designed by
renowned company, using the most advanced and reliable technologies in the market. These
systems are designed in such a way that they can be interfaced with other existing security
detectors and automation systems.
Systems installed by our company include Manual call points, outdoor / indoor and
concealed areas Fire detectors, Fire control panel, Response Indicator, Hooters, PA System etc.
These are installed in such a way that, when there is detection by any detector or any manual
call point is being activated by any personnel, the panel goes into alarm state and activates all
the outputs that had been programmed to function as such like the power supply to many
locations may be offset to prevent the fire from expanding. System includes -
1. Manual Call Points
2. Smoke , Heat & Flame Detectors
3. FIRE Control Panel
4. Response Indicator
5. Hooter
6. PA System / Talkback System

1. Manual Call Points:

We install three types of Manual Call Point (Metal, Alluminium, Plastic), is a device which
enables personnel to raise an alarm in the event of a fire incident by pressing a frangible
element to activate the alarm system. Alarm status is indicated By Red colour LED.
A fire alarm call point is installed usually at a height of 1.4m above floor level at easily
accessible and conspicuous positions. This includes on exit routes, at the entry floor landing of
staircases and at all exits to the open air.
A fire alarm call point should also be placed so that one may always be found within a
maximum distance of 30m apart.

Technical Specifications & Size :

 Operating Voltage : 24 VDC

 Operating Current : 30mA
 Colour : Red, Yellow, Green (Alluminium & Metal - Red)
 Material : Metal, Plastic & Aluminium.
 Square Type : Plastic - 86mm * 86mm * 50mm
: Metal - 90mm * 90mm * 56mm
: Outer dia (cover) 100mm
 Round Type : Inner Dia (shell) 80mm (Aluminium) Depth without cover
50mm (with cover 70mm)

2. Smoke, Heat & Flame Detectors:

We install both IONIZATION and OPTICAL type smoke detectors, HEAT detectors and
Flame detectors, manufactured by renowned company to comply international standards.

Fire detectors operating on various different principles are currently available and the types
presently found in service are listed below –

 Smoke detectors which operate when smoke obscures a beam of light falling on a
photoelectric cell.
 Smoke detectors which operate when a beam of light is scattered by smoke and caused
to fall on a photoelectric cell.
 Heat detectors which operate at a predetermined temperature.
 Heat detectors which operate when the rate of temperature rise of the surrounding air
reaches a set limit.
 Flame detectors which react to radiation, infra-red or ultra-violet type, emanating from
flame.
3. FIRE Control Panel:
A Fire Alarm Control Unit (FACU) or Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) is the controlling
component of a Fire Alarm System. We install four basic types of panels: coded panels,
conventional panels, addressable panels, and multiplex systems.

The panel receives information from environmental sensors designed to detect changes
associated with fire, monitors their operational integrity and provides for automatic control of
equipment, and transmission of information necessary to prepare the facility for fire based on a
predetermined sequence.
Features:

 Zone Isolation facility with loop voltage cut off.

 Compatible to all types of conventional detectors.
 Operates on 230 VAC, 24 VDC.
 Fire / Fault status in unambiguous colored LED.
 Rugged CRCA sheet with powder coated finish.
 Modular Construction.
 Standby Battery backup with build-in charging.
 System On, Main, Standby ON status indication.
 Low Battery visual warning with audible buzzer tone.
 Earth fault indication with audible buzzer tone.
 Relay Outputs for actuators.
 Lamp test facility.
 One man walk test facility.

Technical Specifications:

 AC Power Supply :230V AC,50Hz

 Standby Supply :24V DC
 Operating Condition :-10 to 45 oC , 30-95% RH
 Operating Voltage :24V DC
 Normal Loop Voltage :20.7V DC
 Open Threshold Current :4.2 mA.
 Short Circuit Threshold Current :40 mA.
 Standby Threshold Current : 8.2 mA (EOL Current + Detector's Current)
 Alarm Current :20 - 35 mA
 Quiescent Current :50 mA + 4.2mA / Zone
4. RESPONSE INDICATOR:
Response indicators are used as an auxiliary indication for detectors that are located in closed
spaces (i.e. not visible. For example: above false ceilings, in closed rooms, etc). Detectors are
equipped with a terminal to allow connection to the response indicator. Response indicators
contain a led which lights up as soon as the connected detector detects fire.

5. HOOTER:
The fire alarm hooter is a device that produces sound with hi or low intensive as per customer
requirements, when sensor senses any kind of fire activity. It is enough to make alert everyone
about Fire inside the building, industry, home etc. These are available in three different tones in
different colours. ABS body hooter (ABS – I/II/III/IV) is also available with attractive looks.

6. PA Sytem / Talkback System:

PA system is used for public addressing through we can give alert messages, make important
announcements, give audible alert indication of fire etc. This system will amplify the lower
input audio signal to higher output audio signal to be used in larger area. The configuration of
this system is set according to the customer's requirement. Whereas talkback unit system is
used as an emergency voice evacuation system to communicate between the master and slave
unit via speakers and microphones, in case of fire in a high rise building where radio
communication may not be possible.

PA System Features -
Modular design, plug in type solid state.
Gold plated finger type PCBS.
Expandable up to 2 to 50 zone Fire Alarm Panel.
