COT Lesson Plan
I. OBJECTIVES:
A. Content Standard : The learner demonstrates understanding of motion in one
dimension.
B. Performance Standard : The learners shall be able to conduct a forum on mitigation and
disaster risk reduction.
C. Learning Competencies : Describe the motion of an object in terms of distance or
displacement, speed or velocity, and acceleration.

B. Elicit
Play a game 4pics 1 word with a twist.
C. Engage
A. The teacher will present a diagram showing the positions of the objects described by the
coordinates along the number line. Then the students will answer the follow-up questions.
B. The students will position on the number line provided by the teacher. Then the other students
will identify the distance and displacement of their classmates.
D. Explore
The class is divided into five (5). Each group is given the materials to show the flags and number
line. Then the second group will identify the position, distance and displacement that the first
group presented and will show also their flags and number line for the next group to answer. The
group who got the correct answer is the winner.
E. Explain
Students will report or share what they have learned / understand on the activity.
F. Elaborate
Using the same group, each group should make a table and graph describing the motion of what
the diagram shows.
G. Evaluation
Use the number line below to give the positions of the objects (Don’t forget units!):
