Syllabus Vls Technology Applications
Syllabus Vls Technology Applications
Course Objectives:
This course aims to convey knowledge of basic concepts of circuit design for digital VLSI
components in state of the art MOS technologies.
Emphasis is on the circuit design, and layout.
Special attention will be devoted to the most important challenges facing digital circuit
designers today and in the coming decade, being the impact of scaling, deep submicron
effects, power dissipation.
Course Outcomes:
VLSI design methodologies - the various steps and tools, the implementation choices, and
good architecture practices.
Analysis and Design of digital VLSI systems
Trends in semiconductor technology, and how it impacts scaling and performance.
Several homework assignments delving on core concepts and reinforcing analytical skills
learned in class.
