Will – Shall

“Will” is used in sentences about the future when we make


spontaneous decisions, that is to say, things we decide the
moment we are speaking:

E.g.: I will remember this moment the rest of my life.

A. The phone is ringing, and I am on the other line.


B. Don’t worry. I will take the call.

A. These are the times in life when you need a friend.


B. I will be next to you. I won’t disappoint you.

In modern English, “Shall” is used with the first grammatical


persons “I - WE” to make offers and suggestions:

E.g.: A. I don’t feel fine.


B. Shall I get you some aspirin? (offer)

A. We are getting late to the meeting.


B. Shall we take a taxi? (suggestion)

Consequently, you can make offers with WILL and SHALL, like
this:

A. I am cold.

B. I will get you a cup of boiling coffee.


or B. Shall I get you some coffee?
