Origami Tanteidan

The 23rd annual Origami Tanteidan Convention will be held from August 11-13, 2017 at the University of Tokyo. The convention will feature special lectures, around 100 origami folding classes of varying skill levels, an exhibition of participant and guest works, an origami competition, and an origami auction. Special guests include American origami artist Beth Johnson and British origami designer Mark Bolitho.

The 23rd Origami Tanteidan Convention

The Origami Tanteidan Convention is the yearly gathering of members of the Japan Origami
Academic Society (JOAS).
●Dates: August 11-13, 2017
●Place: The University of Tokyo (1-1-1, Yayoi, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo)
●Events and Features: Special lectures, About 100 classes from simple
to complex, Convention Book vol.23 (optional), Reception dinner
(optional) , Exhibition by participants and guests, 11th JOAS Origami Com-

Beth Johnson is an origami
artist from Ann Arbor, Michigan.
She has been folding paper for
many years, but only recently
began designing her own
models in 2010. Beth spends as
much time as she can working
on origami, whether it be teach-
ing classes, participating in
exhibitions, working on private
commissions, or designing new
models.

Mark Bolitho (UK)

Mark Bolitho is the former Chair
of the British Origami Society
and now works full time as an
Origami designer. In addition to
undertaking commissions for
advertisements and exhibitions,
he has authored several books
and kits about origami including

fectly Mindful Origami series, Dr
Who Origami, and Creaselight-
ning.
