Subject - Insanitary condition of City streets.
Respected Sir,
I shall be much obliged if you allow me a little space in your esteemed paper
to draw the attention of the authorities to the insanitary condition of our City
streets. Even though we have a Municipal Corporation, no steps have yet been taken
by the Municipal authorities to improve the sanitation of the un-healthy streets in
the City. Nearly all the drains are blocked with rubbish and the filthy water is not
allowed to flow causing foul smell. They have become breeding centers of
mosquitoes and other contagious disease germs.
I would like to suggest that the streets should be provided with more drains
and the existing ones properly covered and cleaned. Some more dustbins are to be
provided and placed in different parts so that the people may be stopped from
throwing the waste on the streets. There should be daily cleaning of the roads.
Hoping my suggestions will be taken up and acted on.
I remain,
Yours truly,
XYZ

Oil is necessary in the nutrition of our body but the excess use of oil should be
avoided. There are three types of oils. We use groundnut oil, vegetable oil and
mineral oil in our diet. Groundnut oil is prepared from groundnuts which we use for
eating. Groundnut oil is used in cooking food. Vegetable oil prepared from vegetable
seeds. Vegetable oil is used in manufacturing of soaps, medicines and scents, etc. The
third type of oil is mineral oil which is obtained from the crust of the earth. Mineral oil
is very useful. It is used for driving machines. It is used in the industry also.

(C) Counterview:
I do not agree with the above statement that there is a need for multiple
question paper sets (A, B, C, D) for class Xll. The significant reason behind introducing
multiple question paper set was to tackle the problem of mass copying, which on the
contrary remains unaccomplished. Instead of proposing this complex plan, the school
boards should have taken other measures to stop the problem of mass copying. They
should have taken into consideration that the students of XII standard are mature
enough to understand the dangers of mass copying, which may lead to one's
debarring from exams. Different sets of paper evaluate the examinees differently and
no one can deny the possibility of different sets having varying difficulty levels. This
also hinders the spirit of healthy competition amongst the students striving for high
marks, as higher score not only becomes a matter of hard work but also a game of
chance. Same question paper and structure provides an equal opportunity to all the
examinees since they all get to answer the same questions to the best of their
abilities. While on the other hand, different sets of paper increase the chance of one
paper being more or less difficult in comparison to the other. In the wake of all these
arguments, I believe that this pattern of examination is not only awkward but also
purposeless and thus, there is no need to have the multiple question paper sets (A, B,
C, D) for class Xll.

Honourable teachers and my dear friends! Today, on 22nd March we are
celebrating ‘World Water Day.’ On this occasion, I want to give a speech on the topic
‘Water Conservation’.
Friends! It is said that if there is a third world war, it will be over water. Are you
aware of the severe water crises we are facing? With the onset of summer, let’s all
become alert to water conservation. According to WHO report one in three persons of
Maharashtra has no access to safe drinking water. Maharashtra ranks third in worlds
black list of twenty seven worst performing states. Water save every drop of water
and cope with this scarcity. If the people and the government work hand in hand,
nothing is impossible. We can make our earth a paradise to live in. Let’s all resolve
from today to save water in every way- mend your leaking taps today, take water in a
glass when you brush your teeth, use a bucket instead of washing hands and face with
the tap water running waste.
Remember drop by drop makes an ocean. So friends! Don’t waste water. With
these words, I conclude my speech.
Thank you.
