Reflection Comparing Numbers
Reflection Comparing Numbers
Self-Reflection:
The lesson for Grade 2-b for 23 boys and girls, It was in the Math classroom. The lesson was
about comparing numbers ‘more than, less than and equal’. In addition, in the beginning of
the lesson they will set in the carpet to introduce the lesson by showing pictures about the
crocodile in the river and he like to eat a big numbers and ask them questions ‘ what do you
think the crocodile will eat a big numbers or small numbers?’. After that, I put for them the
video and explain for them the signal of more than, less than and equal’. When the video
finish I open the power point and using smart board to let students come and put which one is
more than, less than and equal’ and we check to gather if its write or wrong. After that I
modelling for them the activities for each groups to help them be more confidence and
understand, then I send them in their groups depend on the level and I monitor them by
using note paper. In the end of the lesson they sit in the carpet and I give stickers for good
students and we review using a power point that have numbers and pictures and I asked
him questions, and finally, I give them exit ticket and I checked.
Things I did well in the lesson plan:
I do the gradual release model to let students collaborate and work independent. And I monitor the group
during students working using a note. Also I differentiated the activities by academic level by called
each group and provide all resources needed for the centres and modelling for them. And I think the
activity are associate the levels of the students specially emerging group. Also, a clearly vocabulary with
using pictures and I explain for them in English and Arabic. I notice students were engaged from the
beginning and during the centres because I read for them short story and we see short video. I
believe all students felt like they understand the comparing numbers because they did the
activity correctly and while I monitor them I Saied positive words like ‘good kop’. They were
also successful for the activities, and I found the hand on activities keep students focused and
busy.
I didn’t tell students in the beginning of the lesson the LO. And I could exchange the groups.
And in developing group I could use magnetic numbers to help them.
• In my next lesson, when the lesson will start first I will tell the students what we will learn
today and I will exchange the groups to students to give them chance to try other activities in
different levels, and to be for some students challenges to develop their cognitive skills.

Comparing Number
Course Code: EPC3403
The MCT and MST will use this form to formally observe the trainee’s performance and to give
feedback based on the selected teaching competencies.
NOTE: Refer to the course-specific, teaching competencies-based rubric included in section D of the TP Booklet
- Good time management throughout the lesson. Has all the lesson plan readily available and
refers to it throughout the lesson.
Managing Learning F D C B A
Comments:
- Simple yet clear explanation of the outcomes. Introduction was fun and enforced critical
thinking.
Implementing Learning F D C B A
Comments:
- Engaging activities. Learners where able to easily apply what they learnt. Clear instructions
and visual aids helped them grasp the concepts.
- Allow for learners to complete watching the video before starting any
explanation. The 1st time should allow learners to watch for interest sake and
the 2nd time should be used to explain points.
Assessment F D C B A
Comments:
- The assessment needs to be big and bold so as all the learners could adequately see what
you are asking of them. Maybe you could include interactive games on the smart board.
Reflection on Practice F D C B A
Comments:
- Overall a good lesson. Next time work on classroom management through positive
reinforcement.
