How to play:
• Your grid represents the sea. Put your 'ships' in the 'sea' by colouring in squares.
• Your partner should do the same with his/her grid. Do not show each other your grids!
• The ships in your grid can touch corners, but must not touch sides:
X OK
• The number of 'ships' which you must put in the 'sea' is shown above the grids: 1 big one, 2 medium ones and 4 small ones.
• Take turns to guess where each other's 'ships' are.
• To find out of a 'ship' (or part of one) is in a particular square, read the coordinates of that square to your partner.
For example: "Jewel. (pause) Two".
• If you successfully hit a 'ship', you guess again. If you miss, your partner takes a turn to guess a square from your grid.
• If your partner doesn't understand your pronunciation of a word, say it again by contrasting it with the similar word next to it.
For example: "Not 'do'. (pause) 'Two.'"
