General guide to voiced and unvoiced “th” pronunciation
There are a few exceptions (e.g. ether, blithe, etc.) , but the following guide is a good starting place.
Unfortunately, it is difficult to explain these concepts to an early-reader who hasn’t yet studied grammar.
However, this guide may be useful for future reference and with students who are more advanced.
