General Information
Description
In this grade students will receive informational instruction in reading, writing, grammar, spelling,
handwriting and critical thinking so that each student can develop their own level of cognitive
understanding to become strong communicators within and outside the classroom.

Expectations and Goals


1. Complete at home assignments/work.
2. Come prepared and with enthusiasm as we start each lesson.
3. Share your ideas and thoughts with the whole class.
4. Be prepared to always write in cursive.

Course Materials
Required Materials
 Homework folder/binder
 Journal notebook
 Language Arts folder/binder

Optional Materials
 Separate folders for each section of language arts: grammar, writing, spelling, and reading.
However, if one binder with section tabs works for the student, they are free to use this
method or a method that better organizes the student and student’s work.

Required Text
 All required text will be provided for the student by the school district.

Guardian Responsibility
Students are required to read 15 minutes per day. As students read their minutes it must be recorded
