Ship Design Aalto

This document outlines the course schedule and requirements for a ship design study track that begins at Aalto University in Finland and concludes with a master's thesis at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden. In the first two years, students take prerequisite courses in mechanical engineering and naval architecture, as well as courses in ship hydrodynamics, stability, dynamics, structures, and systems. They also complete language studies and electives. In year three, students take courses at Chalmers and complete a marine design project and fatigue and fracture course. They choose one additional elective and conclude with a 30 ECTS master's thesis in year four at Chalmers.
