Masalah yang dihadapi murid dalam mempelajari Bahasa Inggeris

 The pupils have very limited vocabulary. This problem will lead to difficulties in
understanding the instructions and questions given to them.
 In order to master English we need to use it regularly but the pupils came from non-
English Speaking family and community so, the only time that they use English is
during the English period and with their English teachers. Thus, limited time to use
English will make the pupils to forget everything once they did not use it for
example during school holidays and weekend.
 Some pupils able to read but they don’t really understand the meaning of the words.
 Grammar rules confused the pupils. Once they learnt about it they were afraid to
make mistake and tend to mix the rules. For example in Simple present tense and
Simple past tense. Even though the teachers have briefly explained the rules and
condition they still mix it around.
 Pupils find English is hard so they only rely on the teachers to spoon feed them
with answers.
 Lack of opportunities to perform or use English due to crowded classroom, 35-40
pupils in a class.
 The pupils have problems in answering HoTs questions.

2. Masalah yang dihadapi guru dalam pengajaran Bahasa Inggeris

 The size of classroom too large. Hard for the teachers to focus on the pupils
individually.
 The number of pupils who cant read in year 1 is too much. Teachers have to start
from the scratch before even can proceed with the new syllabus given by the
Ministry.
 Teachers have too much commitment in doing other non-academic tasks. Thus,
they have limited time to focus on the pupils’ performance.

3. Kaedah yang digunakan semasa mengajar Bahasa Inggeris bagi meningkatkan kemahiran
berfikir murid.

 Use realia and teaching kits in the T&L. Most pupils learn better if they can see
concrete things.
 Use ICT to relate the lesson with the pupils daily life conversation and situation.
 Using Group work is the best because the size of classroom is large.
 Give the opportunities for each person to express themselves. Through activities
such as drama, public speaking, skit and presentation and don’t only focus on the
smart pupils.
