Welcome to the Online Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Color Blindness Test

The F-M 100 Hue Color Blindness Test is one of the most famous color vision deficiency tests.
Setup as an arrangement test it is based on colored discs or plates which have to be arranged in
the correct order.

Even if the test is named F-M 100 Hue it consists only of 88 plates arranged in four batches of 22
differently colored plates. People with normal color vision will only make a few errors or get it
completely right when ordering them. But the more severely colorblind you are the more
misplacements you will have, which will also result in a higher overall error score.

Please arrange the colored plates of each row in a natural order so that the colors appear to change
gradually in steps. The first and the last plates are unmovable and should be used as a guidance.

Caution: Because of different display settings and changing amb ient light conditions, online color
b lindness tests are not reliab le. The results can only b e used as a hint. For a proper diagnosis you
should visit your local eye specialist.

In each row the plates have to be rearranged with your mouse
by drag and drop. The plates should get into a natural order so
that the colors appear to change gradually in steps from left to
right. The first and the last plate of each row can not be moved
and should be used as guidance.

When you are rearranging you have to stay within the same group which is highlighted by a blue
border. The blue line indicates you at which position the plate you are rearranging will be inserted.
The F-M 100 test consists of 88 different plates
which are arranged in 4 distinct rows.

with the error score of each plate. The further away from the center, the bigger is the
error you made in the placement of this specific plate.

Your Total Error Score (TES): 84

The TES can be used as a measurement of your color vision. If your error score is
above approx. 70 you have a color vision deficiency. - The higher the score is, the
more severly colorblind you are.

Based on your personal error score distribution diagram a


so-called Main Axis of Confusion (colored line in the left
diagram) can be calculated. This line corresponds directly
with your personal type of color vision deficiency.

CVD Severity: Slight

The diagram on the right side shows the calculated severity of


your color vision deficiency. It is based on your test result with
a Total Error Score of 84. Everything above the value of 300
corresponds in any case with a severe color blindness.
