Vintage Erotic Classic of the 70's, "Dry Hustle," Re-Issued as Ebook

Professional Rabbit announces the re-release of 70's erotic feminist classic "Dry Hustle" by Sarah
Kernochan

New York, NY, November 01, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Author Sarah Kernochan's supremely raunchy novel
"Dry Hustle" arrived on Amazon.com and Smashwords.com's e-bookstores on October 24, 2010. The
novel was originally published by William Morrow in 1977, as part of a trend in erotic sagas written by
women and featuring strong women as narrators. Like "Fear of Flying," and "Kinflicks" Kernochan's
"Dry Hustle" sold well with men and women alike, reaching 150,000 sales in paperback.

The story features two "dry hustlers": female con artists who prey on males' sexual expectations, making
"empty promises" of passionate trysts and then taking off with the mens' money. Kernochan offers a
feminist twist on prostitution by depicting women who retain their self-respect and their bodies while
pretending to be hot to trot. The women characters were based on two actual hustlers whom Kernochan
found in a dance hall, and then followed around the country, observing and recording their fascinating
scams. She delivers a rip-roaring yarn told by the younger hustler in a hard-bitten yet poignant voice. But
the tale is dominated by Kristal, the older member of the duo, of Gypsy extraction, who has been
practicing the dry hustle since she was in high school. Kristal is bombastic and outspoken, utterly
original, and her hilarious aphorisms reverberate long after you close the book.

After a long hiatus out of print, "Dry Hustle" is back, and seems raunchier than ever in the current
conservative climate. It is available for download for Kindle at Amazon.com, and in all other electronic
formats from Smashwords.com. It will shortly be offered by Barnes and Noble for Nook, Sony Readers,
and the Apple Bookstore for iPads.

Sarah Kernochan is best known as a filmmaker (a two-time Academy Award winner in the documentary
category); as a screenwriter (Nine and 1/2 Weeks, Impromptu, Sommersby, What Lies Beneath, All I
Wanna DO); and as a songwriter formerly recording for RCA. For more information:
