A climber fell 3000 feet while descending from a mountain summit. He sustained injuries including a broken hip and fallen arches. Exhausted and unable to walk, he was found by a shepherd woman who carried him down the mountain over the course of three days, 500 feet at a time, to get him to a village with a hospital. The woman refused payment for her assistance and helped the injured climber recognize the fragility of life.
