Starting Character Term Definition

C Crisis Intervention Case work This term refers to case work


(CIC) interventions that address an
important problem faced by a person
who needs to solve it urgently.

I Intervention Process Intervention usually necessitates a


more systematic and workable
process which requires regular
meetings with the client over a
period of time. This process includes
techniques such as behaviour
modification, psychotherapy and so
on.

L Long-Term Case Work This term denotes that the process of


case work is a long duration and
requires intervention for a long
period of time.
P Preventive Case Work Preventive Case Work refers to the
focus on working with the individual
to prevent any undesirable behavior
or consequence. The word
‘preventive’ denotes the direction of
the case work practice.
S Short-Term Case Work This word refers to the brief period
of case work with an individual. It is
an innovative new approach to the
practice of case work.
T Task Centered Case Work Task Centered Case Work practice
Practice (TCC) (TCC) is a planned short-term
approach of 6-8 sessions in which a
sharp focus and continuity are
maintained.
