PROCEDURES AND TIMELINE:

● Introduction:
○ I will open the lesson by asking students what they remembered (if anything) from last
year about nouns for me to see their prior knowledge.
○ I will let them know that today we are going to learn a lot more about nouns,
○ I will let them know that since I want them to get more practice on their use of
technology, they will be teaching themselves about nouns by exploring the internet and doing their own
research.
○ Then at the end we will all come together to discuss and clear any confusion.

● Procedures:
Prior to the computers (10mins)

Teacher’s procedures:
● After the introduction, I will be letting students know that they must find as much as information about a noun.
Such as what is a noun? How many types of nouns are there? I need a lot of examples of the different nouns.
● At this point, I will have the smartboard open
● On the smartboard, I will show the students that they will be using google (show them the research bar) to
get all their information.
● I will also demonstrate a PowerPoint that has to be similar to the PowerPoint that they will be making
(just for them to get an idea).
At the computers (45mins)

Teacher’s Procedures:
● I will have students open both MS word and an internet browser
● I will direct students to the google website
● Then I will direct students to the MS Word, where they will be taking their notes
● I will let them know that they have 20 mins to find as much as information about a noun.
● After the 20 mins are up, they are going to have to get into groups of 3.
● They going to have 5 mins to put all their information together and assign their job as a team.
● Then, they will be creating a power point on Prezi about nouns.
● The next day, they will be presenting the power point as a group!
● After the power point is completed, I will have the students do a fun activity that has to do with
nouns. This is just for me to see what the students learn while doing the research and gathering
information.
● Monitor and assist as needed
Student’s Procedures:

● Go open MS Word and an internet browser.

● Name your MS Word “Information about nouns.”
● Go to Bullet points and add if necessary to have everything organized.
● Go the google website to find your own information about nouns.
● After the information is gather up, get into a group of 3 people and share all the great information.
● After each person on the group knows what to do, open Prezi.com
● Go to create a new presentation
● Select a theme
● And begin the power point
● Add images, and how many slides are necessary
● Add as much as information as possible, to portray that you have learn something by using the internet
and gathering information.
● Once the power point is created, go to the top right and click “share” and share it to my email.
● Once everyone is done, return to your own desk and sit down. Wait for further directions.

● Closure:
● I will close the lesson with a fun interactive activity.
● This is just to see if the students where able to find great information the benefit them!
● Now that everyone is back to their own sit and with their own computer, open to Khan academy:
nouns/e/identifying-nouns
