Synopsis content
Synopsis, preferably, should be of about 3-4 pages. The content
should be as brief as possible to explain the objective and
implementation of the project. The write up must adhere to the
guidelines and should include the following

1. Title of the Project


2. Problem Statement
3. Why is this particular topic chosen?
4. Literature survey
5. Objective and scope of the project
6. Methodology (including a summary of the project)
7. Hard ware & Software to be used
8. Expected result (quantitative or Qualitative)
9. Impact of the project make ?

Design Process sample
 Project title: Design and implementation of Electric Vehicle.
Mechanical design
Electrical Design
Mechanical design: Structural design and aesthetic design (not our
concern)
Electrical design:
1. Determine the load (in this case total weight of the system to be
driven including human load).
2. Type and capacity of input (battery voltage and AH capacity)
3. Determine the type and capacity of motor ( DC or AC motor)
4. Selection of drive system based on motor.
5. Design of other control and indicators on dash board.
Assume the total weight of the EV is 200Kgs.
1. Consider 50% extra load for selecting motor.
2. Calculate torque required for starting and running condition
for both DC and AC motor considering both starting and
running condition.
3. Calculate number of batteries required for supplying required
current and voltage.
4. If AC motor (Whether Permanent magnet synchronous motor
or other type) select the drive respectively. If three phase select
the three phase drive.
5. Dash board electronics: decide on types of indicators and
controls required. Decide on type of sensors and actuators
required.
