II. Business Details

Business Logo

Pick a’ Chew business logo design uses two colors, yellow and brown which represents the two
main product they offer. Yellow means the empanada should be look golden. That will represent that it
was well cooked. In the logo, there is a brown sauce like circle, with represents the coffee jelly.

Business Details

Pick a’ Chew is a food business that is based on San Sebastian College-Recoletos de Cavite Main
Campus which aims to sell food that is both tasty and budget-friendly. During the pre-planning phase,
the entrepreneurs came up with three different products, namely: kamote chips, kofta balls, and
empanada. As beverage, the entrepreneurs also came up with three different drinks calamansi juice,
choco jelly, and coffee jelly. To choose what is the best for the target market, the entrepreneurs
conduct survey among the senior high school students that leads to empanada and coffee jelly. This
business will be located at the EM Lobby during the Senior High School Week from February 12-14

Background of the product

Pick a’ Chew offers Empanada and Coffee Jelly. The entrepreneurs decided to have four variety
fillings for empanada which includes Cheese, Hotdog, Chocolate and Banana Chocolate fillings.The
costumers may able to choose better option for their snacks or dessert. The entrepreneurs choose
banana and chocolate as one of the filling, banana plantain contains lots of Vitamin A, fiber and
potassium, dark chocolate that has anti-oxidant. The entrepreneurs also choose cheese as filling, cheese
contain nutrients such as calcium and protein.For costumers that are fond of hotdogs we also included
hotdog filling . It is best partnered with coffee jelly, coffee improves energy level of our customers.Our
product will benefit our costumers because it will satisfy their hunger for an affordable and reasonable
price. It could serve as a desert or a bread snack because of its filling and it’s a finger food.The
entrepreneurs ensure that the ingredients used are fresh and clean to serve them quality foods.
Mission and Vision

Pick a’ chew is dedicated to provide good food that appeals to the customers’ taste and budget
that eventually give them memorable experience.

We envision Pick a’ chew as a business that gives satisfaction to every customer we have
through the food and services that we done responsibly in the name of love and respect.

Objectives

 To earn 50% return of investment from our capital within 3 days


 To increase our sale by 10% and to reach our set quota for 3 days
 To provide excellent customer service to the students or customers

III. Marketing and Sales Strategy

Primary Target Market

Freya Go is a student of San Sebastian College-Recoletos de Cavite. She has an everyday


allowance worth 200.00 pesos and she allotted 50% of it for her food expenses in snacks and lunch. She always
ensures to just spent 40.00 pesos for her snacks and the remaining for her lunch. She always searches for fried
or bread snacks at the canteen. She finds snack that is bite-sized and lightbecause it only takes little amount of
time to eat it and very convenient since they limited time for snacks, so she always chooses on the go foods
specially if it’s affordable and wouldn’t exceed her allocated budget for her snacks.

Product/ Service Strategy

The entrepreneurs will offer a free delivery for those who are unable to pick up their orders also
they can buy through our physical store or reach our social media account for orders and deliveries. In
serving the costumers, the entrepreneurs will apply the first come first serve basis by giving them
numbers so that we could serve our costumers fairly.

Pricing Strategy

Cost Based Pricing Strategy

The entrepreneurs chose cost-based pricing strategy. Cost based strategy enables the sellers to
gain equal profit without loss. This approach sets prices that covers the cost of production that helps the
entrepreneurs to earn and to easily set equal pricing. The entrepreneurs did not include the pricing
range preferred by the respondents in the conducted survey.

Promotion Strategy

The entrepreneurs will create a page in social media that will give information to the wide
variety of customers about their product. This will serve as their background about the business that will be
held. Since the target market are Senior High School students, most of the time they are active and got easily
fascinated with what they see in social medias they will make an advertisement that will make them they will
use it to get the attention of the mass.

Ingredients

Procedure

1. Mis-en-place. Prepare everything you need, measure ingredients you needed.


2. In a mixing bowl, mix the melted margarine/butter together with sugar. Stir until the sugar
melted.
3. Add the egg yolks together with the butter and sugar mixture, mix until well combined.

4. Then add the half portion of flour, make sure it was sifted.

Using wire whisk/ electric mixer mix it together with mixture, then add the other half portion of
the flour. Scrape the remaining flour on the sides of the mixing bowl.Add water while mixing.

5. Mix for 3-4 minutes or until you get the desired texture of the empanda dough.
6. Start kneading your dough, will make the ingredients more combine and it will give nice texture
on your dough.

7. Place dough on a bowl, cover with plastic wrap and put inside the fridge for 30 mins to 3 hours.
It will reduce the temperature of the butter making it easy to shape.

8. Take your dough out of the fridge and Prepare rolling board and dust it with flour. Start
flattening it with rolling pin to desired thickness of the dough. Cut it in circles.

9. Place the filling on the center of the cut dough, connect the both ends creating a pouch like
shape the seal the edges using fork. Put egg wash to give it nice color after cooking.
10. In a frying pan, put oil and wait until it produces bubbles that indicates that the oil is now hot.
Put the empanda and wait until it becomes golden brown make sure that your fire should be set
on low or it will burn the empanada dough. Then flip it and wait until its golden brown.
11. Put paper towel on the tray before putting the cooked empanda, it will absorb the excess oil
from it.
12. Serve.

Procedure
1. In preparing the coffee jelly, Measure water and start heating it.

2. Dissolve the gelatin powder using a cold water then put it on the boiling water.Add the coffee
on the water then wait until it becomes thick.

3. Put the coffee gelatin on a tray and wait until it solidifies.

4. While waiting in a bowl mix the


condensed milk and cream. Stir

5. Cut the gelatin into cube sizes and mix it


with the condensed milk and
cream mixture.
6. Serve.
