PRE-LESSON
Teacher gets the pupils match the correct abbreviations to the
ACTIVITIES:
correct word / picture.
Pupils compare their answers with each other.
LESSON DELIVERY
Teacher distributes handouts (modified from Task A:
punctuations to be omitted from the sentences) to the pupils.
Think-Pair-Share: Individually, pupils rewrite the sentences
using the correct abbreviations and punctuation. In pairs, pupils
check their answers before presenting to the group.
Teacher ask pupils to read an email (page 14). Teacher asks
the following questions:
Who writes this email?
Who receives this email?
What is the email about?
Teacher pre-teaches the phrases in Task D.
Pupils read the email again. With their partner, pupils tick the
things that are included in the email.
Teacher asks students to form groups of 4-5 persons. Teacher
distributes strips of paper containing sentences in Task E.
Without looking at the textbook, pupils will arrange the
sentences according to the correct sequence. Students check
their answers with the email in the textbook.
POST-LESSON
Teacher asks pupils about:-
What punctuations that are used in the email that you
have read?
What details do you include in an invitation email?
How is the tone of the email?
