What is Anger?
• Where someone is annoyed or getting into a
rage mode.
4 Types of Anger
• Aggressive anger
– Fighting
• Defensive anger
– Fight or Flight
• Outraged anger
– Laws and rules
• Frustrated anger
– No control over things
External Triggers- People, Places,
Things
• Being verbally/physically attacked or assualted
• An interruption to your plans
• Financial losses or difficulties
• Unfair situations or treatment
• People lie to you or let you down
• Waiting in long lines
• Traffic
• People saying bad things about you
• Given wrong information or directions
Internal Triggers
• Lack of sleep
• Hungry or thirsty
• Having your mind occupied with problems
• Negative emotions, anxiety, depression
• Being lonely
• Not likeing yourself
• Believing that you are not good enough or
unworthy of good things
• Feelings of guilt or shame
Controlling Anger
• Think before you speak
• Listen to music
• Get some exercise
• Play games
• Use humor

• 64% say that the world is becoming an angrier
place
• Almost a 1/3 of people (32%) polled say they
have a close friend or family member who has
trouble controlling their anger
• More than 1 in 10 (12%) say that they have
trouble controlling their own anger
• 58% of people wouldn’t know where to seek help
if they needed help with an anger problem
• 84% agree that people should be encouraged to
seek help if they have problems with anger
