Design and Implementation of Automated Blood Bank Using Embedded Systems
The brain of the system is the Rasbperry Pi B+ that is a credit card sized laptop that
can do many things that a desktop computer will do. Furthermore, the system use the
global system for mobile communication (GSM) that is an accepted standard for
digital cellular communication. Through this application, people in needs of blood
look for donors who are willing to gift blood. The mission of this system is to fulfill
every blood request in the country, including people who lives in some parts of the
country without any internet connection.
Another advantage of this system is that location details of prospective donors is taken
into account by the algorithm. This is important to make sure that the system contacted
with the nearest donor and immediate fulfillment of blood requirement is done.
As future work, it is proposed to implement multiple number of parallel ports
provided, considerable amount of traffic can be easily handled. Furthermore, online
database aided with automatic call routing facility can improve the system for
immediate fulfillment of blood requirement.
