Praxis Core Analysis

The Praxis Core Exam is a required exam that all education majors in the state of Nevada

must pass in order to enter their bachelor level education programs at NSC, UNR, or UNLV.

Students must take a math, reading, and writing test. The passing reading test score is 156, the

passing math test score is 150, and the passing score for writing is 162. The test is supposed to be

taken after students complete all of their required general education courses and before taking the

education capstone course, EDU 299.

I have not taken the Praxis Core Exam yet, however I have been preparing by studying

the practice questions from ETS. I have also been using other websites such as Khan Academy to

practice my math skills, and using a Praxis Core study book.

I still haven’t completed my general education requirements for math, however I plan on

enrolling in Praxis Core Review classes, and if necessary I will work with a tutor to ensure I earn

the best score possible.
