Caroline Myss
Healing and the Mystery of Grace 15 - 17 November
Explore the mystical component of healing and the profound role that grace and
prayer play in the process, with the passionate presentation of Caroline Myss.
Why we heal, and how we heal, are among the most intriguing questions of
human experience. The more we learn about healing, the more we realise that
our healing encompasses every component of our life.

For years we have explored the mind-body-spirit template as the foundation of

holistic healing, but within that, an unexplored mystery remains — the role of grace. Healing has been approached as a mystery of
the mind and emotions, however he deeper truth is that genuine healing — complete remissions of diseases within the body —
are mystical acts of God and not just the result of shifts of attitudes.

Join us to explore the mystical component of healing and the profound role of grace and prayer.
This event is closely linked to James Finley’s workshop, which follows immediately afterwards.

Letting go
James Finley 8 - 21 November

After his very successful Findhorn debut last year, James Finley brings back his unique
and powerful wisdom for another unmissable event, a 3-day intensive closely linked to
Caroline Myss: Healing and the Mystery of Grace.

Meister Eckhart, the 14th century Christian mystic asks, What is the joy that death
does not have power to destroy and how can I discover it? In this retreat we allow
Eckhart to guide us toward this deathless joy in which we come to a profound experience of God as the reality of ourselves,
others and all things. Time will be given for group meditation, personal reflection and there will be discussion of these themes:
Who was Meister Eckhart and what are the guiding principles of his teachings; Setting out on the path of detachment - dying to
the illusions that imprison us; The birth of the word in the soul - discovering God to be the reality of ourselves, others, and all
things; Breakthrough into the Godhead - passing into the infinite emptiness.

and Francois Monnet

27 Dec 2008 - 2 Jan 2009

This week provides an opportunity to consciously step over the
threshold into a new year. Sacred songs and dances, meditation and
ritual help us to open our hearts and open to the wisdom of our mythic
selves, reconnecting to our innocence and authenticity. We venture into
the dark of the forest and invite the presence of nature spirits and angels
to help us discover the magic that is around and inside us, always. We
follow our creativity to celebrate New Year, perhaps celebrating it as we
have never done before. There is space for rest and relaxation.

SPIRITUAL MENTORING
For many years we have been asked by our guests if there are ways to continue a relationship with the Foundation on a personal
basis. By using the telephone for coaching and support we are now able to meet this need.

This service was designed mainly for people who have already attended programmes at the Foundation and who would like to
have ongoing support in embodying the principles that they encountered while visiting here. We also offer this service to those
who have yet to visit the Findhorn Foundation. Our mentors are experienced, long-term community members who can assist
you in planning a programme of spiritual practice, encourage and support you in your practice, and suggest new techniques or
approaches to enhance your practice.

It could be for you if you want to deepen your sense of spiritual growth and direction, you would like support in developing and
maintaining your spiritual practice, or you find it useful to have access to a variety of perspectives on spiritual matters.

If you would like more information about this service,

please email: [email protected]

OUTREACH education
Our Outreach Education is an important aspect of the work of the Findhorn Foundation.
We offer workshops, trainings and presentations sharing the values and group skills
developed here in Findhorn through meditation, attunement, games, dance, song, contact
with nature, and working toward a grounded and positive future. We respond to invitations
from all over the world.

If you would like to set up an event in your area, please get in touch.

Findhorn Foundation’s active participation in the UN Decade of Education for
Sustainable Development (DESD)

The Findhorn Foundation will be represented in the World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development
– Moving into the Second Half of the UN Decade, to be held in Bonn, Germany, from 31 March to 2 April 2009.

The overall goal of the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD) is to integrate the values inherent in
sustainable development into all aspects of learning to encourage changes in behaviour that allow for a more sustainable and
just society for all. The basic vision of the Decade is a world where everyone has the opportunity to benefit from education and
learn the values, behaviour and lifestyles required for a sustainable future and for positive societal transformation.

The Foundation programmes, Ecovillage Design Education and Ecovillage Training

demonstrate the basic characteristics of ESD programmes:
* Interdisciplinary and holistic: learning for sustainable development embedded in the
whole curriculum, not as a separate subject
* Values-driven: sharing the values and principles underpinning sustainable
development
* Critical thinking and problem solving: leading to confidence in addressing the
dilemmas and challenges of sustainable development;
* Multi-method: word, art, drama, debate, experience, … different pedagogies which
model the processes
* Participatory decision-making: learners participate in decisions about their own
learning
* Locally relevant: addressing local as well as global issues

The Findhorn Foundation is an NGO Associated with the Department of Public Information of the United Nations and is
represented in the UN briefing sessions, as well as regular Values Caucus meetings and events, Spiritual Caucus meetings
and meditations, the Conference of Non-Governmental Organisations in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations
(CONGO) Sustainable Development Committee meetings, and various other conferences and workshops at the UN.

Minimising our
ecological footprint

As a spiritual community, education centre and ecovillage, the Findhorn Foundation aims to live lightly on the planet.
While recognising the positive effect of our programmes, we are also exploring further ways of minimising our carbon
emissions and offsetting the residual. From now on we will produce just one full brochure of our programmes and
events each year, instead of two. This PDF brochure is lighter on the planet and replaces our second brochure - you can
print only what you need!

You can also help the environment by choosing not to receive printed copies of our brochure or poster in future. If
you would like to transfer to our email update list, to be notified when our brochure is available online, please email:
[email protected] with your details.

We thank you for supporting our work in the world.
