Noting Teaching and Learning Strategies: Task 3
Noting Teaching and Learning Strategies: Task 3
Strategy: Using place value mat and based ten blocks to build the numbers
Strategy: Decimal sticks. Student will have blank hundred square, and long sticks.
Strategy: Fraction flowers: Using paper plates to create each of the flowers. Students will
have fraction wheels. Students have to put the fraction flowers back together.
Strategy: Rounding numbers using number line. Ask the students: what tens number comes
before and after the number being rounded.
Strategy: Students will use money to compare and order decimals will give students
conceptual understanding of comparing and ordering decimals.
Grade: Week 2
Day 1: Subject: Math
Learning Outcome: Rounding decimals
Strategy: Looking at place value and the number after the decimal point
Strategy: Using a hundred chart to help the students see the next number.
Strategy: To use based ten blocks and the place value chart to add decimal numbers.
Strategy: 1. Line up the decimal points / 2. Add the digits in the same place value position.
/ 3. Bring the decimal point straight down in the sum.
Strategy: To use three types of property which are: Commutative, Associative and
Identity.
Grade: Week 3
Day 1: Subject: Marth
Learning Outcome: Subtract Decimals using models
Strategy: To use based ten blocks and the place value chart to subtract decimal numbers.
Day 2: Subject: Math
Learning Outcome: Multiplying 2-digit numbers
Strategy: Students will have to use the grids to subtract decimal numbers.
Strategy: Students will have to use the grids to help them add decimal numbers.
Strategy: Students will have to use the hundreds chart and number line to help them find the
answers for different math operations.
Grade: Week 4
Day 1: Subject: Math
Learning Outcome: Draw points, Lines and Rays
Strategy: Students will have a wheel that they will use then they will use small whiteboard
to draw the line that they will get after the use the wheel.
Strategy: Students will use different hands on materials to create parallel lines.
Strategy: Give the students real life examples of perpendicular lines and then they have to
create the lines by themselves.
Strategy: Using a variety of pictures that have symmetry, so the students draw the line of
symmetry.
Strategy: Show the students real life 3D objects and provide different materials for the
them to build 3D shape by themselves.
Grade: Week 5
Day 1: Subject: Math
Learning Outcome: Three-Dimensional Figures
Strategy: To let the students use sticks and playdough to build 3D figures.
Strategy: Students will have different models of different shapes that they have to find
the volume of each one of them.
Strategy: Students will use math blocks to build 3D prism then they will have to calculate
the volume.
Strategy: Using different data to plot it on the graphs. And use different types of lines to
represent it in the graphs.
Strategy: Think-pair-share. To help the students think about the topic individually to
answer different questions.
