Rates

I, the teacher, am a strong believer in adapting the lesson to each student. The longest lesson the
student can properly handle will typically be best; however, some people learn best with shorter
lessons. Here are the types of lessons I typically offer and their rates:

• $10 – per 30 minute lesson ($40 with each 4-week month; one lesson a week)
• $12.50 – per 45 minute lesson ($50 with each 4-week month; one lesson a week)
• $15 – per hour lesson ($60 with each 4-week month; one lesson a week)

Further discounts may apply to students taking more than one type of lesson or households with
more than one student. Please inquire through email or telephone as to how these rates work.

Prices are subject to change. I will always tell and remind the one responsible for payment at
LEAST a month in advance.
Student Responsibilities

• Materials – Materials will change depending on the student and type of lesson. We will
discuss this at the first lesson.
• Practicing – Practicing will differ depending on the student and their goals. After the
student starts to get comfortable with lessons, we (the student and I) will discuss our
goals. I do this for multiple reasons. If you would like to read why, check out my page
through the website! Progress will be made most quickly by those students who maintain
the recommended practicing time. Parents are also encouraged to be involved in their
students practice! Taking the time to listen to your child play, or creating a set time for
practicing in the students daily routine are great ways to become involved, even if you
claim to not be musical!
• Attendance – Students (and parents) are responsible for their regular time slot. Please
understand I am already very busy so rescheduling is extremely difficult. I will not be
responsible for making up a missed lesson by the student, yet will try. Reimbursements
will never take place, even when schedules between the teacher and student conflict.
If a student is not able to make a lesson, students (or a parent) are asked to notify me at
LEAST 24 hours in advance.
In emergencies, the teacher will understand. Letting me know when emergencies happen
will result in a different course of action IF you email and talk to her.
• Student Contracts – This document is to be fully read, signed, and turned in along with the
first month’s payment within the first two weeks of lessons. This contract ensures that
both the students and the parents are on the same page as the teacher. The student contract
can be found on the website and can be printed out at home for your keepsake.

Parents

I have found that many parents think they can’t help because they don’t understand music or they
don’t play an instrument. Please get that out of your head now! There are several things that you
can help with. This includes, but is not limited to:
• Encouraging!- This is SO helpful and I cannot tell you enough. Learning music is hard! In
fact, I’ve seen many memes of people comparing music to rocket science. Students need
help, especially when they’re in a hard spot. Music lessons are a wonderful tool to each
life lessons of pushing through and more. Please take the opportunities to do this!
• Taking the Time- Taking the time to take your child to lessons, to listen to your child
practice, and to make “pretend performances” help so much. Sometimes there will be
weeks when I ask the parent to look for a certain thing their child is practicing. Feel free to
sit in on lessons so that I can teach you what to look for as well!
• Help Create Habits- Many people have not learned how to create healthy habits. Help your
child create healthy habits such as practicing for so many minutes every day.
Payment

Payment is due at the first week of every month, for the whole month. Please talk to the teacher
if this you are not able to do this.

“I, the student and parent, have read, understand, and agree to these conditions.”
