1. Add the following vector graphically. Draw the resultant vector on the diagram below. It has
been drawn to scale so you can find the magnitude and direction of the resultant vector. (6
marks)

2. Add the following vectors to determine the resultant. 5.0 m/s at 45 degrees and 2.0 m/s at 180
degrees. (Hint: Use a scale of 1cm = 1 m/s if you are adding graphically.) (3 marks)

3. A cyclist heads due west on a straight road. The wind is blowing from 248 degrees at 10 m/s. Find the
components of the winds velocity. Is the cyclist riding mostly into a headwind or a tailwind? (3 marks)

4. A child ran 25 m N and then 30 m E. What is his displacement? (3 marks)
