Introduction:

In this last stage of the third period, you are going to reinforce some terms that were
discussed previously; the purpose is that you can connect them with some elements
that have been considered through this third period. It is important you can make deep
analysis about this important theme.

E-waste: refers to the disposal of broken or obsolete electronic components and materials.

a. In this first point, you are going to recognize the existing relationship between e-waste and
sustainability. Remember the terms “E-waste” and “sustainable development”, then answer the

Social: technologies such as automation in the industries to replace the work of some people will
help people in a long term objective, at first sight is possible to think that this kind of technology
won’t achieve goals in the social criteria but it will increase the living standards of humans by
replacing routines and time-consuming duties and it will make more free time for more quality of life,
also it will change the culture of the humans in a positive way by making the jobs evolve into
innovate jobs instead of routinary and time consuming jobs.

Environmental: The technologies in the improvements of the developments to a sustainable


develop is very important in the environmental criteria, and if we don’t introduce new technologies

such as sun-energy cells we will keep using fossil fuel, or fuels that aren’t renewable such as coal
and oil, so in this order of ideas we can say that technology in the development of a sustainable
environment is very important, so if humans develop technology to prevent using materials that
aren’t renewable such as water, air and soil, it is contributing to a more sustainable world.

Economical: There are a lot of way that technology can play a role in the development of
sustainable economy, tech advances in health, business and environment provide opportunities to
communities through the introduction of new jobs, looking to the big picture, investing in sustainable
agriculture and fisheries that don’t use pesticides, antibiotics, or hormones on their products,
preventing the depletion of natural resources, will increase the economy by gathering a big amount
of clients and governmental beneficts.
