The little jags will be able to sort out and classify small objects given a mixed pile of
Lucky Charms cereal to the best of their ability.
Materials Needed to Complete This Activity

Available: Sorting bowls


Student Will Supply:

Teacher Will Supply: Lucky Charms cereal

Preparation: ​(What do you need to do to prepare for this activity BEFORE the children arrive?)
Set one bowl at each chair and pour in a scoop of cereal.

Procedures: ​(In great detail, explain how to complete the activity. Your instructions should be good enough for someone else to teach the activity if
you are not here.)
Have children separate the cereal from the marshmallows. Then sort the
marshmallows in to each shape. Children can eat the cereal when they have finished sorting it.

After children sort out shapes and objects they can eat the cereal.

Explain: The children successfully sorted out all the marshmallows and were able to figure out what
shapes went together. They were able to see how many of each kind of shapes they had.
2.​ ​What went well during the activity?
They seemed to have a good time, they all successfully sorted out the different shapes and seemed to
enjoy the activity, I also saw many of them get very excited when they saw what they were doing. They
all also liked that they could eat the marshmallows at the end.

3.​ ​In what way could you improve the activity?


I think the activity went very well and didn't need any improvements.
