Game Plan

Before 3:30 Reach around 3:15


Set up

3:30-3:45 Icebreaker
● Beach ball ice breaker
○ Write questions on a beach ball
○ Pass the ball around, when the next person catches it, the
question their right thumb lands on is the one they answer
○ Throw the ball up and catch again if the same question is
repeated too many times
○ Make sure that everyone gets a chance
3:45-3:50 Assignment 2 update (slides)
● How is the assignment going?
● How many of you started?
● What questions do you have?
Answer any questions that students have
● If you want me to look at it, I will be glad to do that
● Any technical issues

3:50-4:00 ● Activity- Make a class for your favourite superhero


○ Get with a partner
○ Pass out index cards, write the name of a superhero that
you both like
○ Using the honors course catalog and your own creativity,
make an honors course you will have your superhero teach
○ Create a class description, a course name and find the
relevant area(s) that the course would give you credit for.

● Get in groups of 3-4
○ Stay in same pairs from last activity, find another group
who has a superhero you would like your superhero to
make an alliance with. This will be your new group
○ The group stays together, you can not split up and cover
more territory
● You will be given clues which lead to a campus resource
○ Match each location with a clue, some locations might
have multiple clues? (No they actually don’t. But don't tell
them (the students))
○ You can take help from the internet and I recommend
using google maps to map your journey to cover as much
areas as possible
● You are to visit as many places as possible and get some
evidence that you were there (maybe a selfie or flyer)
● You have 30 minutes
● Keep in mind
○ Please don’t be disruptive, people might be busy there,
please respect that
○ Be back on time, remember that it may take you upto 10
minutes to get back depending on where you are
○ We will regroup in this classroom at 4:40
○ Email or bring your evidence to class when you return

● Each group talks about the resources they visited and which one
do they think was the most useful and why

● Arrange yourself in alphabetical order of first name
