Here’s what’s happening in Washington Today. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N. Y)
continues to attack democratic 2020 front-runner Joe Biden, who she believes is not
progressive enough to defeat President Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election.
“I think a progressive president can A, beat Trump,” she added, “as much as people
think that that’s not possible, I think it’s the only way, I really believe the only way we’re
going to be able to beat this president is with a progressive candidate.”
Also, Speaker Nancy Pelosi told senior democrats she’d like to see President Donald
Trump “in prison”, during a Tuesday night meeting with House Judiciary Chairman Jerry
Nadler.
Along with Nadler Pelosi met with several other Democrats who are pushing
investigation against the president.
Sen. Warren and Rep. Ocasio-Cortez continue to move closer towards goal of IRS doing
your taxes for you.
South Bend Mayor and 2020 presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg stated that he
believes Stacey Abrams was robbed of the governorship of Georgia, he went on to
blame voter suppression for her narrow loss last year.
“When racially motivated voter suppression is permitted, when distracts are drawn so
that politicians get to choose their voters instead of the other way around, when money
is allowed to outvote people in this country, we cannot truly say we live in a
democracy.” He stated
In bigger news today, President Donald Trump signed a $19.1 billion disaster-aid
package that had been held up for months by wrangling over aid for Puerto Rico and
funding the southern U.S Boarder.
As far as the upcoming 2020 election former Vice President, Joe Biden continues to
lead the race and is at stead-fast pace to becoming the democratic presidential
nominee in 2020.
