B. Lesson Proper
a. Motivation
Before we start our lesson for
today, let us have a short activity. I
want the class to be divided into
three groups. (The students will count off and group
themselves into three groups)

I will give each group an envelope


that contains pieces of puzzles to be
arranged and to be posted on the
board. Each group must have a
representative to give an idea about
the picture that you will be formed
out of the puzzle pieces. I will give
you 3 minutes to do the activity. Is
that clear?

May I ask the representative of each
group to come in front and say
something about the picture that
you formed.

GROUP 1- a diamond necklace
GROUP 2- a beautiful girl at the ball

As you can see on the board those
pictures are related with each other.
Today, our topic is about the story
“The Necklace” by Guy de
Maupassant.

c. Unlocking of Difficulties
Before we read the story let me
show you something first. I have
here a list of words that you may
not familiar with, these words are
from the story that you will going to
read.

6. MORTGAGING

(A cartolina will be posted on the


board)

story.

Very good, for us to know if you


really understand the story I will
divide your class into 4 groups.
I will give each group a scene from
the story and what you are going to
do is to discuss what happened in
that particular scene. Is that clear?

who got the 1st scene.

Your presentations are all amazing.


Let us have a game(combined 1st
and 4th group, 2nd and 3rd group).
We would play “The Bird Box
Challenge”. As you can see I have
box here, inside of this box are
different questions from the story. I
need 10 members on each team and
2 handkerchiefs.
This is the instruction: the members
will fall in line at the back. The last
member will pick a question from
the box and try to answer it. Then,
he/she will pass the answer or the
question on the member in front of
him/her. The person who stands in
front will be blindfolded and she/he
will write the answer on the board.
The first team who will write the
answer on the board will get the
point.
Questions that the student’s will read:
1. Who is the main character of the story?
2. What is the job of the husband of the
story?
3. What did her husband gave when he
came home from work?
4. When the party did ends?
5. To whom did the main character
borrowed jewelry?
6. What thing did the husband suggested
to wear instead of jewelry?
7. Where did they find the necklace that
matched to the one that she borrowed?
8. What is the total amount/original
amount of the necklace that they sold to
the shop?
9. How many francs did the husband
inherited from his father?
10. How much is the cost of the lost
necklace according to Mme. Forestiere?

team who got highest points.)
d- Generalization
Okay, so let’s wrap up about what
we have discussed a while ago.

it write an explanation about your portrait.
