Department purpose
The Strategy & Architecture team are primarily accountable for setting the future direction of technology at Allen
& Overy. This includes providing:
architecture and technical oversight and decision making;
definition and creation of all technology roadmaps;
technical governance across entire IT portfolio;
technical expertise on waterfall build projects that primarily grow and transform our business.
Role purpose
The User Experience / User Interface (UX / UI) Designer works with the scrum team to determine user experience
across a number of platforms and devices. The UX / UI designer will define the interactivity and user experience
on a variety of products, proposing solutions that balance user needs with business goals and technical capabilities

Job description
Solve interaction design problems using analytical skills, usability testing and research during the
development process
Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to development
Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate
interaction and design ideas
Provide user experience documentation in the form of wireframes
Direct the visual appearance of all new features and enhancements on products
Offer implementation suggestions from a user-centred perspective
Offer in-depth knowledge of user interface best practices and standards. Use research-related services,
theories and methods to support your recommendations
Work closely with the Scrum Business Analyst to understand the requirements
Present creative designs and user experiences wireframes to the business, including partners and fee-
earners
Key requirements
Desirable Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in interaction design, new media design or related design field
