Position Summary: UI/UX Designer/ Developer

Makers Hive Innovations Pvt. Ltd.

General Job Purpose:

The UI/UX Designer/developer will have an impeccable eye for interesting design and will work
on a variety of activities such as the design of websites, advertising i.e. giving Makers Hive
Innovations a visual brand. The role holder should be a strong communicator who thinks
creatively, is detail-oriented and have the ability to meet tight deadlines. The ideal match needs
to possess superior UI/UX skills, and should be able to translate high-level requirements into
interaction flows and transform them into striking, intuitive and functional user interfaces.

Reporting to: Chanakya Gone (Chief Electronics Engineer)


Accountable for:
A. Job Responsibilities: UI/UX

1. Create visually appealing websites that feature user-friendly design and clear navigation.
2. Helps with maintenance and additions to the website.
3. Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design
roadblocks.
4. Create website layout/user interface as appropriately required.
5. Create and Integrate complex working hierarchical structures.
6. Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs.
7. Create and maintain design documentation.
8. Design webpage layout, and create back up files.
9. Collaborate with clients to define and implement innovative solutions for the product
direction, visuals and experience.
10. Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off.
11. Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps, to effectively
communicate interaction and design ideas.
12. Create low-fidelity wireframes and quickly iterate based on feedback, and synthesize
multiple points of feedback into a thoughtful solution and response.
13. Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level
stakeholders.
14. Conduct user research, evaluate user feedback and execute on good user experience.
15. Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, procedures and standards.
16. Sketch, concept creation and wire framing, producing sitemaps and user flows.
17. Communicate clearly and often, but work effectively independently, with minimum
supervision within deadlines.
18. An understanding of front-end development frameworks.

19. Work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master
diverse web technologies and techniques.
20. Work successfully in a collaborative work environment with a variable mix of promoters
and their requirements.
21. Handle tight deadlines with multiple projects within a start-up environment.

Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in interaction design/ human computer interaction (HCI)/ any relevant field
is ideal.

Required skills:

• Must have excellent knowledge of user experience principles and techniques.


• At least 3 years of experience of creating prototypes or highly detailed wireframes for
complex web applications.
• Familiarity with user interface and navigation for E-commerce applications.
• At least 3 years of experience working in a collaborative team, and directly
with developers of implementation of design.
• knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, AngularJS and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with user interface patterns for native mobiles (iOS/Android) and mobile web
is a plus.
• Knowledge of MEAN Stack technology is a BIG ADVANTAGE.
• Experience with user interface design patterns and standards.
• Good eye for aesthetics: layout, grid systems, colour theory and typography.
• Candidate must be in sync with recent design standards and trends.
• Knowledge and understanding of server-side technologies, and how they interact with the
frontend.

Preferred skills:
• Advanced skills in JQUERY and Bootstrap.
• Previous experience in CMS like WordPress, Joomla, Magento and Drupal etc.
